Our story

Built from a life spent helping people move.

Wellness Warrior was created from years of experience working with people in rehabilitation, education, personal training, and wellness coaching. Throughout that journey, I saw how movement could transform lives, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally.

I wanted to build something different.

Not another fitness facility filled with equipment, but a wellness studio where strength, mobility, recovery, education, and community all exist together.

Every detail of the studio was intentionally designed to help people slow down, disconnect from the stress of everyday life, and reconnect with themselves through movement.

Whether someone is stepping into their first class or continuing a lifelong wellness journey, they should feel welcomed, supported, and reminded that they're capable of more than they realize.

The space

An experience unlike any traditional gym.

Hidden on the fourth floor of a historic building in Kansas City's West Bottoms, Wellness Warrior offers an experience unlike any traditional fitness facility.

Natural light, warm lighting, exposed brick, natural wood finishes, calming textures, carefully selected décor, and intentional design come together to create a space that immediately feels welcoming.

Every corner of the studio was created with purpose, to encourage movement, recovery, focus, and connection.

Whether you're joining a strength class, taking time to improve your mobility, or simply enjoying the peaceful atmosphere before class begins, the space is designed to help you slow down and be fully present.

More than anything, Wellness Warrior is a community. It's a place where people encourage one another, celebrate progress together, and know that wellness isn't measured by perfection. It's measured by showing up.

Meet the founder

Clellon Williams, MS, CES, CWC

Founder & Lead Coach

I'm Clellon Williams, founder of Wellness Warrior, and I've dedicated my career to helping people improve their health through movement.

My journey has taken me from working as a rehabilitation technician and physical education teacher to becoming a personal trainer, exercise science professor, wellness coach, and now a Doctor of Public Health candidate. Along the way, I've earned both my Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and my Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, becoming a Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) and Certified Wellness Coach (CWC).

Every experience has shaped the vision behind Wellness Warrior.

I founded this studio because I believe exercise is medicine and that everyone deserves access to a welcoming space where movement is used to improve quality of life, not just physical appearance.

My coaching philosophy combines science, education, functional movement, strength training, mobility, recovery, and compassion to help people become healthier for the long term.

Whether you're stepping into a gym for the first time or you've been active for years, my goal is to make you feel supported, challenged, and empowered every time you walk through our doors.

What we believe

Exercise is medicine.

  • 01

    Movement is medicine.

We coach exercise as a tool for longevity, not punishment. Every session should improve your quality of life.

  • 02

Recovery matters as much as strength.

Mobility, rest, and nervous-system care sit next to strength on our schedule, not behind it.

  • 03

    Every fitness level belongs here.

New, returning, or seasoned. We meet you where you are, without ego and without shame.

Come feel the space.
